About The Position

This job exists within Mars Snacking to enable the delivery of our ambitious 2030 Climate commitment through strategic oversight of our segment carbon pipeline and strong business partnering with climate leads across the business. The Climate Enterprise Strategy Sr Manager will own the segment’s Climate Operating Model and will develop and execute a shared vision for Climate, leveraging data-driven strategic decision making, process efficiency and performance management rigor. This role requires expertise in sustainability and climate strategy alongside strong leadership and communication capabilities to foster a culture of Net Zero across all parts of the business.

Requirements

• Degree or Masters in Supply Chain, Agriculture, Sustainability or equivalent.
• 5-10 years experience in sustainability, particularly leading Climate related activities and implementing large-scale transformational programs.
• Familiarity with the Mars SiG Plan and deep knowledge of its Healthy Planet programs, particularly the key elements of our Net Zero Roadmap.
• Excellent relationship building skills with demonstrated ability to work across cultures and manage a complex set of stakeholders.
• Experience of delivering through others is critical.
• Ability to enable data driven decision making for business leaders through best-in-class data analytics, strategic agility and strong communication skills.
• Excellent process and project management experience with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Establish a holistic and long-term enterprise-wide Climate strategy, identifying the most effective and efficient approach to delivering Snacking Climate targets.
• Identify the investment plans required to deliver targets and develop a long-term cost optimization strategy.
• Own the strategic management of Snacking’s GHG pipeline, advising the business on interim target setting, pipeline opportunities, performance roadblocks and risk mitigation strategies.
• Owner of the Climate Operating Model, coordinates key activities that support Climate delivery across strategy, financial planning, program activation and performance management.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities for embedding Climate into BAU processes across the business as well as tools and systems to drive greater efficiency.
• Develop best practice standardized guidance for key enablers of Climate delivery (e.g. Marginal Abatement Cost Curve, Climate contracting, etc).
• Own centralized development and implementation of metrics, processes and data analytics to track Climate performance across GHG reduction activities, volume/mix, methodology restatements, etc.
• Responsible for reporting Climate performance as input into key governance forums and deploying risk and opportunities processes when needed.
• Co-own the establishment of the Sievo data management process as a one source of truth for Climate performance across GHG and investments.
• Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with critical functions like Commercial, Finance, R&D, Supply, etc to foster collaboration and process/performance management on long term Climate objectives and initiatives.
• Collaborate with key regional and cross functional governance forums to align Climate objectives, priorities and advocate for the integration of Climate into decision making.
• Represent Snacking in relevant Mars Inc forums and workstreams to ensure standardization across the business.
• Support any relevant strategic initiatives under the broader Healthy Planet pillar for Snacking.
