About The Position

The Enterprise Change & Control Business Intelligence Lead position involves providing first line of defense risk leadership, oversight, and support for all business unit segments in executing enterprise risk and operational risk programs. The role requires collaboration with leadership, second line of defense program owners, and other applicable areas of the bank to develop a framework and execute on risk program deliverables. The lead will manage a team of professionals responsible for executing and supporting risk program and reporting deliverables, facilitating the execution of key risk framework components as delegated by LOD2 risk programs. The position also involves assisting business line management in identifying, assessing, controlling, mitigating, and communicating risks associated with business processes and decisions for the applicable business units. The role may allow for telecommuting/remote work for well-qualified individuals located outside of the Truist footprint, with a requirement to work in the office four days a week and one day remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Communications or equivalent education and related training.
  • Eight to twelve years of financial services or risk management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical, cognitive, conceptual, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication (verbal and written), presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated planning ability with judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in related field, Banking School graduate, or equivalent education and related training.
  • Proficiency in Navex PolicyTech and Microsoft SharePoint and Visio.
  • Knowledge of Tableau, SQL, Python, and PowerBI.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coordination, effective challenge, and robust independent oversight of policies, limits, and committees to drive effective governance structures and requirements.
  • Develop working relationships across assigned business units and committees to drive the implementation and execution of a multi-level governance document structure.
  • Support the design, implementation, and execution of comprehensive, forward-looking and risk-based frameworks, processes, and systems.
  • Monitor and execute risk governance policies and procedures to establish defined processes and clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Identify and monitor risk governance exceptions, issues, and emerging trends across assigned business units.
  • Document the governance and reporting program including methodologies, processes, and procedures.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of processes and procedures to ensure the accuracy of reports produced by the team.
  • Evaluate control weaknesses or key indicators exceeding risk limits and perform root cause analysis.
  • Build a working knowledge of the business units' strategic plan, key objectives, risk appetite statement, and RSCA process.
  • Assist in the detection of emerging and/or under-recognized risks.
  • Conduct data aggregation to support risk appetite framework and quarterly profile.
  • Assist business leaders in the development of RAF metrics and thresholds.
  • Generate content for regular management and risk program governance committees.
  • Facilitate Risk Committee and other risk committee/working groups.
  • Demonstrate Truist's risk culture.
