Known as a Subject Matter Expert in the technical field or area. Develop and implement backup and recovery solutions to meet business needs and service level agreements. Configure, install, and maintain hardware and software for data backup and storage. Perform data restores and disaster recovery tests. Monitor backup jobs, analyze logs, and troubleshoot and resolve failures. Manage storage infrastructure. Ensure data integrity and security. Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations and processes, and generate reports for audits and compliance. Primarily responsible for the design, configuration, and implementation of the data storage environment with particular emphasis on backup and recovery solutions. Provide both guidance and hands on build support. Perform regular data restores and conduct disaster recovery drills to verify backup integrity and preparedness. Manage and optimize storage systems, analyze capacity needs, and ensure secure storage of backup data. Work with other IT teams, such as system administrators and database administrators, to identify and resolve data protection issues. Configuring on-prem clients for cloud backups. Forecasting storage needs based on backup metrics and usage patterns. Optimizing backup and recovery system performance. Creating and maintaining system configuration documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
