The Automation Architect at Confluent will provide technical leadership within the Business Systems team, focusing on enterprise-grade automation and integration solutions.   • Design and implement scalable, distributed, event-driven systems using Kafka and Flink, ensuring low latency and high reliability.
  • Incorporate AI technologies into automation and event-driven workflows.
  • Architect integrations across SaaS platforms, systems, and databases using Kafka streams and microservices patterns.
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into cohesive automation and AI strategies.
  • Lead the design of microservices that align with cloud-native principles.
  • Conduct technical design reviews and enforce best practices for high-quality solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of emerging AI technologies alongside data streaming solutions.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers.
  • A minimum of 8+ years in enterprise automation, software architecture, or related fields, with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Kafka and event-driven systems.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale, cloud-native solutions leveraging Kafka, Flink, and AI-driven tools.
  • Advanced understanding of event-driven architecture, stream processing, and distributed systems.
  • Experience integrating AI models or tools into enterprise systems, including real-time machine learning workflows.
  • Proficiency in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including infrastructure as code.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools.
  • Industry recognition as a thought leader in automation and real-time data processing.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing AI/ML pipelines or integrating AI services.
