General The Enterprise Architecture Intern will be part of the Enterprise Architecture Team in the IT Front Office group, which defines and governs the technology strategy, principles, and roadmap to ensure IT solutions align with business objectives and comply with approved patterns and standards. This position is responsible for working closely with the Director of Enterprise Architecture, and the intern will participate in weekly intern cohort programming, as well as collaborating with other interns on a group project. Role Description: As the Enterprise Architecture Intern you will assist the Enterprise Architecture team in the planning and execution of Mizuho’s enterprise architecture strategy. This internship will be hands on. You will be involved in discussions and processes for multi-million-dollar decisions. A general understanding of IT systems and practices, preparation of documentation, spreadsheets & presentations to enhance executive reporting capabilities are part of the role.

Requirements

  • Use of Copilot or similar tool
  • Familiarity with AI prompt engineering best practices
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts
  • Use of productivity tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio or equivalents)
  • Knowledge of Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) concepts
  • Knowledge of dashboarding/visualization tools (i.e. PowerBI)
  • Knowledge of survey tools
  • Current students with an expected graduation date of May/June 2027
  • Willingness to learn!

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred majors: computer science, computer engineering or related majors

Responsibilities

  • Investigate what AI can do for us for policy enforcement at design and implementation level.
  • Can we use AI to identify unapproved technologies, can we codify some of the policies?
  • Can we codify developer rules so AI can again do review and compliance check on the project. Like, code coverage is above 67%, no code smells tied to critical vulnerabilities exist, code templates are followed, input validation is happening, etc.
  • Can we progress diagrams as code effort?
  • Can we use AI to turn our blueprints into projects?
  • Work with ServiceNow team to build a Proof of Concept workflow.
  • Setup weekly reporting and dashboards
  • Update data on weekly basis
  • Use surveys to facilitate process improvement
  • Improve visualizations for our often-used reference data
