About The Position

CGI has an immediate need for an Enterprise Architecture Governance & Drift Detection Lead to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years! . This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable. We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architecture Governance & Drift Detection Lead to strengthen architectural integrity across applications, platforms, and infrastructure environments. This role is responsible for designing and implementing automated mechanisms to detect architectural drift, operationalize architecture-as-code and policy-as-code frameworks, and leverage AI-driven insights to support enterprise decision-making. The ideal candidate will work closely with domain architects, platform engineering teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment between business strategy and technical execution. This position combines deep architectural expertise with modern automation practices and advanced AI prompt engineering to enable measurable, scalable governance. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role includes presenting insights, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience designing and implementing architecture drift detection frameworks across applications, cloud platforms, and infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with architecture telemetry models, including system behavior, compliance indicators, and health metrics
  • Proven ability to integrate governance controls into CI/CD pipelines and runtime environments
  • Practical knowledge of architecture-as-code and policy-as-code frameworks
  • Experience translating architecture principles and non-functional requirements into machine-verifiable rules
  • Solid understanding of enterprise architecture standards, cloud ecosystems, and modern engineering practices
  • Experience conducting solution evaluations, trade-off analyses, and architectural impact assessments
  • Demonstrated expertise in prompt engineering, particularly using Microsoft Copilot Chat or similar AI tools for technical analysis
  • Ability to develop reusable AI prompt libraries, templates, and workflows
  • Strong data modeling skills related to architecture metadata, lineage, and automated analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable preparing executive-level presentations and communicating complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) or enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) are preferred
  • Relevant AI or prompt engineering certifications are a plus
