About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on Enterprise Architect (EA) to support Federal Client's Financial Services Center (FSC) initiatives, with a focus on iFAMS, financial systems, and healthcare claims processing. This is not a high-level advisory role. The ideal candidate is a working architect ("doer") who actively contributes to solution design, integration, and problem-solving across teams. You will work directly with engineering and delivery teams to build, troubleshoot, and implement solutions, not just define strategy. The ideal candidate brings: ~5+ years Enterprise Architect experience ~4+ years Solution Architect or hands-on engineering background Current, hands-on technical skills in integrations, APIs, and enterprise systems

Requirements

  • 5+ years Enterprise Architect experience (hands-on)
  • 4+ years Solution Architect / Senior Engineer experience
  • Demonstrated current hands-on technical involvement (not past-only experience)
  • Experience with: API integrations
  • ETL / data movement
  • Enterprise system integration
  • Experience in federal or regulated environments (VA preferred)
  • Integration & APIs: REST/SOAP APIs, enterprise integration patterns
  • Healthcare Claims: X12, HL7 (working knowledge)
  • Financial Systems: iFAMS or similar ERP/financial platforms
  • IBM Sterling B2B Integrator
  • MuleSoft / ESB technologies
  • ETL tools (Informatica or similar)
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Azure (hands-on exposure)
  • Data & Modeling: SQL, data flows, BPMN (practical use)

Nice To Haves

  • TOGAF (not required)
  • High-level EA governance experience
  • CPIC / Exhibit 300 exposure

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and support enterprise integrations, APIs, and data flows
  • Work directly with development teams on implementation and troubleshooting
  • Participate in code reviews, solution validation, and technical problem resolution
  • Support data exchange, ETL processes, and system integrations
  • Contribute to solutions supporting: iFAMS financial systems
  • Billing, payments, and reconciliation processes
  • Healthcare claims (X12, HL7)
  • Assist in resolving real-time financial and claims processing issues
  • Hands-on work with: IBM Sterling B2B Integrator
  • API integrations
  • SOA / ESB platforms (MuleSoft, etc.)
  • Support secure data exchange with internal and external systems
  • Work within Agile teams (Scrum/SAFe) to: Refine user stories
  • Support sprint execution
  • Deliver working solutions
  • Partner closely with product owners and developers
  • Create practical, usable architecture artifacts (not shelfware)
  • Contribute to solution design, but remain engaged through delivery and implementation
