Position Overview This role provides strategic leadership and oversight for the organization’s enterprise architecture function. This role is accountable for defining the technology vision, ensuring architectural integrity across all platforms, and driving innovation to enable business transformation. The Enterprise Architect partners with executive leadership to align technology strategy with business objectives, leads a team of architects, and influences enterprise-wide decisions on technology investments and standards.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, or enterprise platform design.
  • 5+ years in enterprise or solution architecture roles.
  • Strong expertise in AWS, Snowflake, Salesforce, Workday, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with enterprise integration patterns and data architecture.
  • Strong understanding of security and regulatory requirements (HIPAA preferred).
  • Experience with AI/ML systems such as ChatGPT integrations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Strategy: Define and drive the enterprise architecture strategy across Zelis platforms, aligning technology investments with business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise architecture principles, standards, and reference architectures.
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide guidance on major initiatives, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and business leaders to translate strategic goals into executable technology roadmaps.
  • Architecture & Engineering: Design and govern enterprise architecture across core platforms and systems including AWS, Snowflake, Salesforce, Workday, and AI platforms such as ChatGPT.
  • Architect and optimize AWS-based environments including compute, storage, networking, and serverless services.
  • Define enterprise data architecture leveraging Snowflake and other data management systems for warehousing, analytics, and data sharing.
  • Lead architecture strategy that includes Salesforce and Workday platforms and integrations.
  • Define enterprise AI architecture patterns and responsible AI usage frameworks.
  • Integration & Interoperability: Define enterprise integration patterns including API-first, event-driven, and data streaming architectures.
  • Establish standards for interoperability across enterprise systems and platforms.
  • Guide implementation of secure and scalable integrations.
  • Support healthcare transaction and data exchange patterns where applicable.
  • Define and enforce data governance and access control standards.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborate with engineering leaders, product teams, and platform owners to align on architecture direction.
  • Mentor architects and senior engineers.
  • Drive alignment across distributed teams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on technology decisions.
