About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Enterprise Architect - SME to join our team of passionate individuals in Washington, DC. In this role you will support challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the Nation's security and intelligence mission. You will be working in an organization that's mission is to accelerate operations through data and new analytical insights. The entire section leverages agile and works to provide the entire enterprise with tools and applications to assist with operational data discovery, data exploitation, data analytics, and data visualization tools. The section works closely with the entire enterprise to ensure its applications and tools meet or exceed the needs of the mission. The Enterprise Architect (SME) is a part of a team that will lead large scale data analysis projects to designs and delivers on premises and cloud-based applications. The Enterprise Architect (SME) is responsible to design, build, and implement and maintain enterprise class systems and processes to support mission needs and develops the baseline and target architecture for a production environment. The Enterprise Architect (SME) will align standards and frameworks with overall business and technology strategy and identify design gaps in existing and proposed architecture and recommends changes and/or enhancements to ensure stability, interoperability, portability and/or scalability of system architecture.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience with 10 years of related technical specialized experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline
  • In absence of degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements

Responsibilities

  • Designs, builds and implements and maintains enterprise class systems and processes to support mission needs and develops the baseline and target architecture for a production environment.
  • Align standards and frameworks with overall business and technology strategy.
  • Identifies design gaps in existing and proposed architecture and recommends changes and/or enhancements to ensure stability, interoperability, portability and/or scalability of system architecture.
  • Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
  • Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives.
  • A Subject Matter Expert is an individual whose qualifications and/or expertise are exceptional and/or highly unique. Has domain and expert technical knowledge.
  • Performs the following kinds of functions: Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs; Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues; Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
  • Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation. May supervise others.
