We are seeking an Enterprise Architect – Core Utility Applications  to shape the future of our technology landscape, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices. What You’ll Do: Lead enterprise application architecture strategy to support critical utility operations, including energy generation, transmission, distribution, and customer service. Ensure architectural governance and alignment with key strategic initiatives, such as Fusion ERP, Customer Experience Transformation, and Grid Modernization. Oversee core utility system design and strategic planning for systems such as: Energy Management Systems (EMS) Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) Customer Information Systems (CIS) Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS) Work and Asset Management Systems Develop scalable, secure, and optimized application portfolios that align with enterprise architecture standards. Collaborate with IT and business leaders to drive innovation, reduce complexity, and enhance system interoperability. Establish and maintain governance processes to ensure technology investments deliver maximum value.   What You Bring: Proven expertise in enterprise application architecture within the utilities sector. Requirements

  • Proven expertise in enterprise application architecture within the utilities sector.
  • Strong understanding of core utility systems and their integration across energy operations.
  • Experience leading large-scale digital transformations, including ERP and customer experience initiatives.
  • Ability to drive technology standardization, security, and scalability across enterprise applications.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent collaboration and communication skills, partnering effectively with IT and business stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • PLUS ten (10+) years of experience in enterprise application architecture, with a focus on utilities or energy sector solutions.
  • Deep expertise in utility core applications like EMS, CC&B, ADMS, MDMS, Work Management Systems, and ERP.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and cloud adoption strategies

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise application architecture strategy to support critical utility operations, including energy generation, transmission, distribution, and customer service.
  • Ensure architectural governance and alignment with key strategic initiatives, such as Fusion ERP, Customer Experience Transformation, and Grid Modernization.

  • Develop scalable, secure, and optimized application portfolios that align with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Collaborate with IT and business leaders to drive innovation, reduce complexity, and enhance system interoperability.
  • Establish and maintain governance processes to ensure technology investments deliver maximum value.
  • Performs the most complex duties of the technical architecture positions and is thought of as an expert in solving architecture issues within and outside the organization
  • Leads the technical and business discussions relative to future enterprise direction
  • Defines, implements, and enforces an overall architecture practice, principles and standards
  • Leads the creation of EA governing principles
  • Creates, evaluates and implements plans and design proposals for high impact IT solutions and their use involving leading edge technologies and methods considering key factors such as their long-term effectiveness (service delivery and cost), practicality, technical limitations, and criticality
  • Leads or contributes to designs applied to all aspects of business systems and/or infrastructure prototypes and eventual implementation
  • Approves modification of the enterprise architecture to address project needs
  • Leads and drives research of emerging technologies, market trends, and industry and provides recommendations to ensure continued alignment with business
  • Provides technical leadership and is responsible for establishing the direction for the IT architecture, standards, design, and implementation approaches for the company's application systems and/or infrastructure
  • Participates in industry/knowledge reference groups
  • Provides guidance, coaching, and training to other employees across the company within area of expertise
  • Leads sub-division teams in complex technical projects
  • Manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-divisional teams
