This role serves as the Enterprise Services - Applications Architecture leader. The Applications Architecture organization is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering the architecture for large-scale software applications that run core business processes for the company, such as accounting, finance, supply chain and procurement, manufacturing execution, logistics, inventory & warehouse management, shipping, receiving, global trade and customs, export/import, contract management, customer management, timekeeping, product line/program management, and new product development. This leader is responsible for driving applications architecture strategy, implementation, standards, and architecture governance across all RTX functions and BUs.

  • Be an RTX applications technology leader.
  • Lead cross functional architecture efforts to deliver solutions for RTX customers and business needs.
  • Partner closely with Infrastructure, Data, and Cyber Security.
  • Create the architecture model to reflect the organization’s business strategy & goals.
  • Set the vision and direction for the enterprise applications architecture organization, maintain a standard operating model and drive continuous improvements to optimize service delivery.
  • Assess the RTX applications landscape and suggest optimizations and drive improvements & industry best practices.
  • Facilitate Architecture Review board (EDTAC) to drive common architecture process and governance across RTX.
  • Manage the team providing Application architecture, Technology architecture, Enterprise architecture across multiple digital organizations at the Corporate and business unit level and across supported business functions.
  • Ensure EA engagement from conceptualization to execution using a value driven approach with clear business outcomes defined.
  • Actively participate and contribute to federated enterprise architecture operating model, defining architecture principals, standards, frameworks and methodologies.
  • Lead implementation of architecture best practices in Enterprise Services Applications to accelerate service maturity.
  • Create workforce and staffing plans to ensure availability of human capital necessary to accomplish business results.
  • Leads, mentors, and coaches technical teams and attaining impactful outcomes.
  • Build and foster trust relationships across RTX architecture teams achieving OneRTX vision & objectives.
  • Build architecture talent Pipeline, mentoring and coaching and support the architecture community of practice across RTX.
  • Closely align and communicate with ES-Applications executives to provide meaningful, actionable, digestible, and fully approved architecture models and deliverables that solve a defined and budgeted business need.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business or information technology area and 14+ years of IT/Digital experience.
  • Minimum 12 years experience in enterprise architecture working with Lean Agile Methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) in large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Deep understanding of the realities of service delivery, cost, budget, and schedule as they relate to architecture priorities, deliverables, and alignment.
  • Proven experience defining architecture processes and best practices including collaborating across the enterprise to accelerate adoption and maintaining compliance to architecture standards.
  • Demonstrated solutions design expertise in core business process areas (e.g. general and cost accounting, consolidation, financial planning, export/import, contracts/billing, procurement, manufacturing execution, logistics, engineering design, sustainment, etc.).
  • Demonstrated customer and executive interaction skills including written and verbal communication, relationship building, and negotiation.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical abilities and consulting skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of business and in a global environment.
