About The Position

Leidos is seeking a university student to join our remote team as a Enterprise AI Software Engineering intern supporting CDAO Innovation and Automation efforts. This role focuses on developing and enhancing capabilities for Moveworks, the platform that powers Leidos’ enterprise AI assistant, which helps employees automate tasks, access information and interact with enterprise systems through natural language. This internship offers an opportunity to contribute to projects focused on AI powered automation, chatbot development and enterprise system integration. The intern will work with engineers and product teams to build and improve AI-driven workflows, integrate enterprise applications, and enhance the employee experience through conversational AI. This role emphasizes hands-on software development, AI-enabled automation, and rapid prototyping in modern enterprise environments.

Requirements

Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in the Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance if required
Strong interest in software development, AI applications or enterprise automation.
Basic understanding of APIs, software development practices and system integration
Experience or coursework with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, R, Java, C++, JavaScript)

Nice To Haves

Coursework, projects, or hands-on experience in areas such as: Artificial intelligence or machine learning
Software engineering or application development
API development or system integration
Familiarity with chatbots, conversational AI or automation platforms.
Experience working with REST APIs, scripting or cloud-based services.
Strong problem-solving skills and interest in building AI-powered tools that improve how organizations work.

Responsibilities

Support development and enhancement of capabilities within the Moveworks enterprise AI assistant platform.
Assist in building integrations between the AI assistant and enterprise systems such as HR, IT service management and internal knowledge platforms.
Contribute to automation workflows that enable employees to complete tasks through conversational AI
Support development and testing of AI-driven features, APIs and backend services.
Assist with debugging, testing and improving chatbot responses and workflows
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI engineers, platform engineers and product teams.
Document development work, test results and improvements to support continuous enhancement of the platform.
