Responsibilities

• Conduct routine case interviewing and investigation for reported enteric disease cases.
• Identify and interview contacts of cases following established protocols.
• Provide education about enteric disease pathogens, symptoms, and modes of transmission.
• Notify local public health agencies of disease control matters and outbreaks.
• Utilize various communication methods to contact cases, including text messages and emails.
• Provide surge capacity support during outbreak investigations by administering questionnaires or surveys.
• Document and enter case and contact investigation information in EpiTrax.
• Conduct medical record chart reviews for cases that cannot be reached or interviewed.
• Assist in the development of case interview tools and resources.
• Join CDC multistate calls and complete appropriate outbreak questionnaires.
