The University of Minnesota's School of Music (SOM) is seeking an experienced Program Manager to oversee the Ensembles area, specifically managing the University of Minnesota Bands (UMN Bands) program. This role is critical in bridging the UMN Bands program with university, college, and community stakeholders. The UMN Bands program includes various ensembles such as the Minnesota Marching Band, Athletic Pep Bands, Concert Bands, Jazz Ensembles, and Jazz Combos. The Program Manager will work closely with the Director of Bands and the Director of Marching and Athletic Bands to plan community outreach programs and manage events. This position requires adaptability and responsiveness to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to work independently and provide solutions to complex issues. The Program Manager will supervise a full-time Ensembles Librarian, a part-time Office Support Assistant, and graduate and undergraduate student employees. Responsibilities include financial administration, outreach, engagement, and management of special events, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders such as Northrop, UMN Athletics, and community partners. The position also involves managing social media content, developing marketing materials, and coordinating communication with alumni and donors. The successful candidate will have a strong background in program and project management, with a focus on event logistics and supervisory experience. This is a full-time, 12-month Civil Service position with a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-person presence during specific events and the beginning of the academic year.
