About The Position

Your expertise will be crucial in reviewing clients' financial situations, working directly with IRS Revenue Officers, and developing tailored resolution strategies to resolve tax issues and ensure the best possible outcome. As an Enrolled Agent - Revenue Officer Pro in our Resolution Department, you'll represent clients assigned to an IRS Revenue Officer, interacting with Revenue Officers to achieve account resolution. You'll strive to keep clients protected from collections, ensure timely case progression, and empower clients through education until a final resolution is established.

Requirements

  • Active Enrolled Agent License or CPA (Required)
  • Active PTIN (Required)
  • Established E-services account on IRS.gov (Required)
  • 1+ years' experience setting up resolutions with ACS or Revenue Officers (Required)
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, IRS processes, and tax resolution strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Emphasis on nurturing and maintaining positive interdepartmental relationships
  • Strong analytical and time management skills
  • Superior attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with and provide documentation to assigned Revenue Officers.
  • Review client documentation prior to submission to verify accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and finalize the client’s financial packet to include a resolution proposal.
  • Communicate daily with the RO Case Advocates to ensure timely progression of each case.
  • Negotiate realistic resolution options with Revenue Officers, keeping client advocacy as the main priority.
  • Complete the occasional compliance call to find out RO contact details if unavailable.
  • Represent clients in communication with the IRS, including handling notices, appeals, and resolving disputes.
  • Guide clients through various IRS collection processes, such as levies, liens, and garnishments, and work to negotiate favorable outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date on IRS regulations, tax laws, and resolution options to provide accurate and effective solutions to clients.
  • Provide clients with ongoing support and advice to help them maintain compliance and avoid future issues with the IRS.
