About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and creative individual to join our team as a Part-Time Enrichment Specialist for Older Adults. In this role, you will help create and facilitate engaging activities and support programs aimed at improving the social, emotional, and mental well-being of older adults. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with older populations and experience in creating meaningful, accessible programs that promote inclusivity, and connection.

Requirements

Experience working with older adults, either professionally or through lived experience, is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with older adults.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to create and implement engaging, accessible activities that cater to a variety of interests and abilities.
Empathy and patience in working with individuals who may have varying cognitive or physical limitations.
Creative problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise.
A passion for community-building and improving the quality of life for older adults.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Ability to travel to community locations - car and good driving record

Responsibilities

Develop and Implement Programs: Design and facilitate social, educational, and recreational programs tailored to the interests, abilities, and needs of older adults.
Engagement and Outreach: Build rapport with older adults and their families to encourage engagement.
One-on-One Engagement: Offer individual support and companionship to seniors, helping them connect with what’s important (meaningful) to them and stay mentally and emotionally engaged.
Monitor Progress: Track the success of engagement efforts, adjusting activities based on feedback and the evolving needs of participants.
Collaborate: Work with other staff members, caregivers (care partners/family), and volunteers to coordinate and enhance engagement efforts.
Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of participant engagement, preferences, and feedback for reporting purposes and future program improvements.
