About The Position

The Enrichment Centre Coordinator coordinates the Enrichment Centre (ENRC) to carry out its objectives in the provision of rehabilitative care for the Enrichment Centre patients. Work is full time during the day with occasional weekend or evening work. Work is performed at the ENRC and residential site with some work at the clinic and in the community. The residential site may be a home and/or an apartment complex which may have two stories; if two stories, the top story is accessible by one flight of stairs. A high degree of accuracy in documentation and observation, adaptability to a variety of situations, strong organizational and communication skills, decision making and an ability to evaluate situations as they occur is needed for this position. Requirements

  • High School graduate or G.E.D. required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Working knowledge of rehabilitative care is required.
  • Experience in which potential administrative and supervisory competence has been demonstrated required.
  • Current CPR, First Aid and Pro-ACT certification required.
  • Cleared driver status required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the performance of NRS duties required.

Nice To Haves

  • Participation in/completion of Residential Continuing Education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning and organizing the daily activities of the Enrichment Centre.
  • Supervises and supports Clinic Aides and Neuro Rehabilitation Specialists (NRS) in the administration of patient programs in the ENRC.
  • Provides for the safety of patients, visitors, staff and self when interacting with patients who may have behavioral outbursts, which can include yelling, exiting, hitting, kicking, biting, spitting, scratching, and throwing objects.
  • Performs toilet and chair transfers with assistance for patients up to 150 pounds utilizing approved transfer techniques. Transfer techniques include standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, pivoting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Patients requiring moderate to maximum assistance and weighing over 150 pounds are lifted and/or transferred by two persons.
  • Be familiar with/uses special equipment as required by each patient, including, but not limited to wheelchairs, walkers, gastric feeding tubes, and smaller equipment including writing implements.
