Engraving Utility Operator LOCATION: Columbus, WI SHIFT: 1st (7am-3pm) SUMMARY: Assist in daily operations of Engraving operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in training, embrace concepts of and actively practice the SPOT Safety Program fundamentals to aid American Packaging Corporation’s efforts to achieve a zero-incident rate.
  • Individual must be very self-motivated, have the ability to work independently, and take proactive steps towards solving identified problems. Must also be very willing to take on new projects as they develop.
  • Plan, prioritize, communicate, and adjust engraving schedule to meet changing press needs per written procedures.
  • Ensure confirmation dates are up to date daily and delays are properly communicated to Engraving Logistics.
  • Optimize the utilization of the Engraving Operation, and outside vendor capabilities to meet various mixes of customer lead teams.
  • Control budget targets related to the position. Re-purpose bases as needed and disposition internal base que. Ensure accuracy of base assignment within the system. Manage base inventory and purchases of new bases as needed per procedures.
  • Daily communication with Engraving Logistics on cylinder dates. Real time communication on Hot requests and timing into the engraving schedule to the engraving team.
  • Process APC Engraving Invoices per SOP
  • Enter in Certificates in PTM for cylinders completed each day.
  • Re-purpose bases as needed and disposition internal base que.
  • Base modification POs as needed.
  • Back up the Engraving Logistics
  • Follow SOPs to assure all requirements are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.
