Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English, or a related field required; Master’s preferred
  • At least two years of secondary English teaching experience preferred
  • Strong classroom management, instructional planning, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with instructional technology and learning management systems
  • Commitment to student achievement, collaboration, and the school’s mission

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, Missouri Learning Standards–aligned instruction in English Language Arts (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)
  • Teach literary analysis, writing processes, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, accountability, and academic growth
  • Design and assess a variety of formative and summative assessments aligned to course objectives
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Integrate instructional technology to enhance literacy, writing, and student engagement
  • Maintain accurate student records and uphold classroom expectations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum alignment and interdisciplinary learning
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and expectations
  • Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school activities
  • Model professionalism and communication aligned with the school’s mission and values
