About The Position

Middle Park High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate English teacher to join our team. This teacher will develop students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing , skills fundamental to effective communication and literate citizenship. The teacher will foster an appreciation of literature across genres, encourage students to read widely for both information and enjoyment, and develop students’ ability to think critically about written and oral communication, including media.

Requirements

Appropriate Colorado teaching license required.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, along with strong time management and organizational skills, are necessary.

We are seeking a teacher interested in continuing to grow and expand our Advanced Placement and/or Dual Enrollment program.

Responsibilities

Developing lesson plans aligned with state standards
Preparing and delivering instruction
Creating and supervising student activities
Adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs
Evaluating student performance
Maintaining classroom records
Maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members
Participating in campus events
Possess knowledge of current pedagogy related to the teaching of composition, including grammar, usage, and mechanics within the writing process
Be comfortable using a broad range of texts, including fiction and nonfiction, historical and contemporary
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
Establish and communicate clear outcomes for lessons, classwork, and projects
Support the program of study using a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and technology
Serve as a model for the district’s mission, vision, and goals
Analyze and use appropriate data to guide instruction and develop assessments
