The Classroom Teacher - General Education is responsible for complying with all Local, State, and Federal mandates, including the Every Student Succeeds Act. The teacher instructs students in curricular activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth in the subject matter and skills that contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible adults. The teacher applies knowledge of current research and theory to the instructional program, plans and implements lessons based on district objectives and the needs of assigned students, and complies with the standards of performance and conduct set forth by the state department of education. Establishing effective rapport with students and developing positive relationships with parents and other staff members is essential. The teacher observes all rules, regulations, policies, and practices of the District and administration.

  • Teaches district approved curriculum using a variety of instructional techniques to maximize student achievement.
  • Guides the learning process towards the achievement of district curriculum and goals by establishing clear objectives for lessons.
  • Participates in collaborative planning, data analysis, and instruction with peers and district initiatives.
  • Ensures students demonstrate mastery of district objectives through projects, daily assignments, and assessments.
  • Participates in professional development directed towards developing competencies and instructional strategies.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.
  • Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Creates a conducive classroom environment appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Develops and maintains lesson plans and instructional materials appropriate to district curriculum.
  • Communicates regularly with parents both inside and outside the normal contract day.
  • Performs teaching and other duties as assigned by the superintendent and principal.
  • Attends all required meetings.
  • Complies with assigned duty times of the teacher contract day.
  • Bachelor's degree and valid Oklahoma certification required in subject area taught.
  • Meets Oklahoma State Department of Education and Federal standards for a qualified teacher.
