The English Language and Global Training student employee will assist with a variety of office-related duties to support the department’s administrative needs. The student employee will assist the ELGT staff and teachers in supporting the English as a Second Language ( ESL ) students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : · Assist with and at new student orientation, including preliminary preparations and checking in of students · Assist the ELGT staff with events programming, inclusive of marketing · Provide peer guidance and support to new ESL students as they adjust to the new environment · Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, greet visitors, and answer basic inquiries at the front desk as needed · Scan and file confidential student documents. Run errands/make deliveries and/or pick-ups from other campus departments; · Support the development of the ESL department’s visibility by assisting with photos, ideas, or the submission of articles. · Manage the bulletin board, physical or electronic · Schedule and coordinate activities for students CONTACT WITH OTHERS : · The student employee has frequent interaction with global students as well as with staff from other Gannon departments; visitors to the Office of English Language and Global Training, or other entities via telephone or in-person office visits.
