About The Position

The English Language (EL) Program Tutor position at Lakeville Middle Schools involves providing direct and indirect support to identified English learners (ELs) in grades K-12 under the supervision of the building principal and licensed EL staff. Tutors will support students in one-to-one and small group settings, working flexible hours during summer and September to assist with the screening and entry of multilingual students. The role requires strong communication skills, flexibility in working with various group sizes, and proficiency in technology used by students.

Requirements

  • AA degree (minimum of 60 college credits) or successful Para Pro test or Para Educator Assessment required.
  • Strong communication skills with students and adults.
  • Skilled in use of various computer programs (word processing, Powerpoint, excel) and technology used by students (iPads, smartphones).
  • Strong language skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional post-secondary training relevant to children/adolescents/young adults preferred.
  • Bilingual/multilingual or conversant in a language other than English preferred.

Responsibilities
