The ELD Teachers will play a critical role in advancing Multilingual learners’ (MLLs) knowledge and use of English in increasingly sophisticated ways, especially focused on the successful use of academic language necessary to accelerate their learning. The primary service delivery model for English Language Development instruction at DSST is a Co-Taught model. Depending on campus, the ELD instructional model may differ, but typically includes dedicated ELD courses and co-taught integrated courses that emphasize functional and communicative language approaches. The role involves teaching at both middle school and high school levels, with a focus on delivering rigorous and engaging content, tracking student growth, promoting a positive culture, and contributing to the school community.
