About The Position
Job Summary The STEAD School guide will be adolescent-advocates and educators with the desire to equally: a) teach their "speciality," b) share their talents & interests in other subjects, AND c) embrace the responsibility of a "generalist educator" by fostering the social and emotional health of adolescents. The STEAD School guide is part of the community working together to address some of the world's largest challenges. The STEAD School English, Language, Arts (ELA) plays a vital role in developing students reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, fostering a love for literature, and preparing them for effective communication in various contexts.
Requirements
- Maintain positivity and professionalism
- Thorough understanding of the pedagogy and best practices of education.
- Desire to teach secondary (high) school-aged children and ability to adapt to their developmental status.
- The ability to design lessons that teach curriculum in an engaging manner, applying various teaching methods such as the flipped classroom, lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and individual or collaborative projects and research.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage the classroom.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Creative analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Ongoing maintenance of all requirements regarding professional courses and in-services required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse school facilities and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
