About The Position

Huron Academy is seeking a part-time English Language Acquisition Specialist to support K-8th grade students in their language learning journey. This role involves working closely with children to enhance their English language skills, particularly for those who are fluent in Ukrainian. The position is designed for individuals who are passionate about education and have experience working with children.

Requirements

• Fluency in Ukrainian
• High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred)
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• One of the following: Original Transcripts (Min 60 Credit Hours), Valid signed and notarized Teaching Certificate, Copy of Diploma (Min Associates Degree), ETS Paraprofessional assessment (passing score of 460)

Responsibilities

• Support students in acquiring English language skills
• Assist in developing language learning materials
• Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to enhance student learning
• Provide individualized support to students as needed
• Communicate effectively with students and their families
