About The Position

The English Department seeks qualified individuals to join our adjunct hiring pool to express their interest in future, part-time teaching assignments at Worcester State. Adjunct faculty members teach 3-credit undergraduate courses, typically at the introductory level. Faculty with experience teaching first year writing, business communications, and/or technical writing are preferred. Total credits will vary from 3 - 9 in the day division, DGCE, or a combination thereof.

Requirements

• Master's degree required; Ph.D. preferred.
• College teaching experience is preferred.
• Experience with distance learning preferred.
• Must have a laptop and reliable internet access.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching first year writing, business communications, and/or technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3-credit undergraduate courses in English, typically at the introductory level.
• Prepare course materials and deliver lectures.
• Assess student performance and provide feedback.
• Maintain office hours for student consultations.
