About The Position

KBR is looking for an entry-level technician. The entry level technician will be responsible for testing and maintenance of hardware including but not limited to: (Extra Mobility Unit (EMU) Suits and Suit components, EVA Tools and Crew Aids, Ancillary equipment, and other subsystem equipment as required. Testing and Maintenance of hardware will be for Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL) Training, or Flight events, etc. The technician will perform duties per documented procedures and work authorizing documents. The technician will assist Engineering in various activities from fit checks for suited subjects as well. Additionally, the technician will interface with customers, other technicians, engineers, logistics, and bond room personnel on a daily basis to perform job duties.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a Class III Physical
  • Excellent oral and written communications; must be able to read and interpret Work Authorizing Documents (WADs) and mechanical design drawings
  • Capacity to work in a team environment
  • Must have a working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Associate's degree plus applicable years directly related Technical Degree or Military Technical School (skilled craft level five) or the equivalent of High School Graduate plus applicable years of directly related work experience.
  • 1-4 years of related experience
  • This position requires successful completion of a government background check before commencement of employment.
  • Successful candidates must also be able to apply for and successfully receive and maintain security clearance per eligibility requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Pressurized Test Equipment experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, assembly, testing, repair and processing of hardware to support various events, and deliverables
  • Incorporates engineering changes, and performs functional performance testing of Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) components, associated Extravehicular Activity (EVA) hardware, and other hardware as assigned
  • Assistance to engineering in the location and diagnosis of anomalies and recommends corrective action through liaison
  • Daily tasks associated with reading engineering drawings/schematics, equipment specifications, test procedures etc.
  • Specified training online, and in classroom, as required to maintain certifications to perform job functions
  • Daily updates to various job-related database(s)
  • Adherence to Quality and Safety requirements
  • Transportation responsibilities to operate motor vehicle for delivery of hardware to various events
  • Daily verbal and written communication with other technicians, leads, engineers, managers, other personnel and customers
