About The Position

We are looking for Engineering Manager or hands-on TLM to lead and actively participate in the development of our distributed data platform and Integrations engineering team while maintaining hands-on technical involvement in architecture and development. This role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring both strong engineering expertise and team leadership skills.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in engineering management
• Strong hands-on experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and microservices
• Deep understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud services (AWS)
• Experience with message queuing systems (SQS), search technologies (SOLR), and API design
• Track record of leading complex technical projects and architectural initiatives
• Proven ability to balance management responsibilities with hands-on technical contribution
• Experience scaling engineering teams and managing senior technical talent
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and development practices
• Able to demonstrate strong coding proficiency
• Distributed systems architecture

• System monitoring and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of senior platform engineers working on distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
• Actively participate in technical design and code reviews while contributing to core platform development
• Drive architectural decisions and technology choices for large-scale distributed systems
• Define and implement technical standards, best practices, and development workflows
• Manage sprint planning, technical debt, and project delivery timelines
• Collaborate with product management to define technical roadmaps and delivery schedules
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Oversee system reliability, performance optimization, and scalability initiatives
• Lead hiring efforts to build and scale the platform engineering team
• Interface with other engineering leaders to ensure alignment across teams
• Guide implementation of microservices using Docker and Kubernetes
• Oversee AWS infrastructure design and optimization
• Direct integration strategies for third-party systems and APIs
• Lead performance optimization initiatives including caching, queuing, and throttling
• Drive adoption of emerging technologies where appropriate
