About The Position

Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection, measurement and imaging applications, including military communication, guidance and electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land, sea and aircraft; automotive systems, medical systems, and industrial test equipment. Position Summary: The Engineering Test Technician I supports the Test Engineers with the setup, alignment and testing from RF to mmW products. They are responsible for using standard RF, MW and mmW tuning methods to work on components and assemblies, including core and wire, LTCC, MMIC, and integrated microwave assemblies and microstrip based passive and active components. Salary Range: $60,000- $70,000 per year

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
  • 3 years or more of experience in mmW Product Design/Test or related field.
  • Experience in microwave and millimeter-wave hardware test and measurement up to 40 GHz; ability to validate results against theory and expectations.
  • Advanced experience using PNA-X vector network analyzers.
  • Hands-on ability to assemble, tune, test, and troubleshoot hardware in a laboratory environment.
  • Basic understanding of surface mount and microelectronic chip-and-wire manufacturing processes, including soldering, wedge bonding, silver epoxy application, and material properties (e.g., thermal conductivity, expansion coefficients), plating, substrates, and PCB manufacturing techniques.
  • Practical knowledge of testing and measuring MMIC, LTCC, and ferrite core and wire products, including couplers, dividers, baluns, transformers, mixers, and amplifiers.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and assembly drawings.
  • Basic scheduling and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • May require some travel, overnight as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Align and test RF through mmW amplifiers, mixers, multipliers, switches, filters, couplers, attenuators, phase shifters, limiters and other related components using the latest PNA-X vector network analyzers.
  • Operate, calibrate and maintain all test equipment, including PNA-X vector network analyzers and other associated equipment.
  • Maintain high quality and production yields.
  • Prepare test reports and data summaries.
  • Test, tune and troubleshoot integrated assemblies when required.
  • Develop test, tuning, and calibration procedures for E-Run projects; review with supervisor and assist with transition to production.
  • Collaborate with production test teams, including cross-functional training as required.
  • Assist in generating tuning patterns, component value changes and other design related improvements that improve manufacturability.
  • Support calibration schedules for bench equipment.
  • Support power handling tests of RF and electronic components, ensuring accurate measurements and reporting.
  • Perform fixture calibration, and verification to maintain test accuracy and reliability.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on test equipment, fixtures, and lab tools.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Support engineering team in ISO audits and Management Reviews and participate in internal and external audits.
