About The Position

The Engineering Technology Lecture & Lab Adjunct Faculty position involves teaching evening courses in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at the Cranford, Elizabeth, and Plainfield campuses for the Spring 2026 semester. The faculty member is responsible for delivering courses as assigned, ensuring adherence to the course syllabus and catalog descriptions, and incorporating interactive teaching methods and technologies. The role requires a commitment to diversity and the use of various educational resources, including library materials and technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and specialized licensing preferred.
  • Some teaching experience is required, preferably at the community college level.
  • Unofficial college transcripts must be submitted prior to the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned courses in accordance with the description published in the catalog and the approved course syllabus.
  • Incorporates an appreciation of diverse lifestyles, cultures, and national perspectives into courses.
  • Utilizes library resources, writing as an instructional method, and academic technologies in courses.
  • Meets all scheduled class meetings and advises the Division Dean/Assistant Dean of absences in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate grade and attendance records for students and submits required reports.
  • Submits grades by the published deadline.
  • Participates in the assessment of learning outcomes and uses results for course planning.
  • Plans in advance for the availability of supplies, textbooks, and classroom equipment.
  • Submits progress reports on students and discusses any issues with appropriate personnel.
  • Adheres to College policies and procedures.
