About the position
This internship position at J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is designed for students currently enrolled in technology-related degree programs. The role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in engineering and technology tasks, particularly in the transportation industry, while working up to 40 hours a week during the summer. Interns will participate in various projects, enhancing their knowledge and skills in data analysis and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Expand knowledge of the transportation industry and related systems
- Perform limited analysis and design tasks
- Gain awareness and knowledge of quantitative methods, computer programming, optimization, and/or solution design to support data analysis
- Assist with solving problems related to process improvement by analyzing internal and external data, including operations, pricing, financial, and customer information.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a technology-related degree program such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Industrial Engineering at an accredited academic institution
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75, with a 3.0 in the major field of study
- Ability to work up to 40 hours a week during the summer.
Nice-to-haves
- Preference for applicants enrolled (or recently completed) a course of study in Data Science or applicable degree field.
