About the position
The Engineering & Technology Intern position at J.B. Hunt Transport is designed for students pursuing a technology-related degree. This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in the transportation industry while working under routine supervision. Interns will engage in engineering and technology tasks, participate in the software development lifecycle, and receive specialized training, all while working up to 40 hours a week during the summer.
Responsibilities
- Expand knowledge of the transportation industry and related systems
- Perform limited analysis and design tasks
- Troubleshoot and address bugs and problems with assistance from senior team members
- Develop an understanding of processes associated with the organizational software development lifecycle through participation and specialized training
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a technology-related degree program such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology at an accredited academic institution
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75, with a 3.0 in the major field of study
- Ability to work up to 40 hours a week during the summer
Nice-to-haves
- Preference for applicants who have just completed a course of study in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or applicable degree field
- Prior J.B. Hunt Engineering and Technology Internship experience
