About The Position

Amentum is seeking a highly motivated and talented Engineering Technician II to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. Contingent on funding Engineering Technician III Responsibilities include: Works with the pulser team in both an indoor and outdoor lab environment, to prepare and execute test activities Supports MIL-STD-3023 High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse testing for various military aircraft, weapons and communication systems Calibrates, maintains and organizes specialized test equipment Operates, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains simulation/high voltage equipment and components used to perform electromagnetic pulse, lightning, electro-static discharge, p-static, or similar phenomena test and evaluation. Conducts a variety of tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting test equipment and recording test data.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience performing work related to the responsibilities listed.
  • Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance.
  • Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the design and operation of Pulsed Power systems including Marx Generators, Fast Trigger Systems, and Pulse Forming Networks
  • Ability to follow specific layout and scientific diagrams and schematics
  • Ability to extract and compile a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, and lap reports
  • Knowledge of pulse forming networks involving high voltage pulsed power supplies and fast switching devices from a theoretical or practical standpoint
  • Knowledge of analog and digital technologies
  • Knowledge of the practical use of RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, VNA's, etc.)
  • Prior military service
