About the position
The Engineering Technician position at CommScope involves supporting the FPGA engineering team in the design and implementation of FPGA-based products for wireless systems. The role focuses on lab-related tasks such as system bring-up, testing, debugging, and providing support for remote lab access, contributing to the integration of engineering efforts across various teams.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and implementation of FPGA-based products used in wireless systems.
- Perform lab-related system bring-up, testing, and debugging.
- Assist team members with remote lab access support.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate engineering efforts.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent two-year degree.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in the wireless/wired communication field.
- Experience with Oscilloscopes, Signal Analyzers, and Generators.
- Experience with lab maintenance and networking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move around 30 - 40 pounds and more than 50 lbs. with peer assistance.
Nice-to-haves
- Linux experience
- Exposure to TCP/IP networking
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages
- Prior experience in wireless standards (LTE, 5GNR)
- High-speed serial interface testing/debug experience
- RF system integration experience.
