This internship will allow you to plan and design manufacturing processes in a commercial plant. Coordinates the activities in developing manufacturing methodology relative to operation methods, process, work measurement, tooling, material routing, preparation of estimates, and other technical phases involved.

  • Request engineering changes and work with the Engineering Department to release and implement changes.
  • Lead Kaizen blitz projects and participate in teams to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing projects, including In-Lining, MRD, PLS, and 80/20 evaluations.
  • Assist in writing, submitting, and implementing capital requests.
  • Create, modify, and maintain production floor layouts using AutoCAD/DraftSight.
  • Develop solid models and mechanical assemblies, understanding the parameters of various fabrication machines.
  • Assist in resolving technical problems impacting performance, cost, or schedule significantly.
  • Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies, and concepts.
  • Validate and ensure production readiness of solutions to complex problems.
  • Implement lean principles and technologies.
  • Apply Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools under general supervision.
  • Develop models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data and provide summary analysis and metrics.
  • Assist in research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality.
  • Manage, define, negotiate, or control the scope, cost, and timing of projects and perform risk analysis using project management tools.
  • Utilize engineering methods to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources.
  • Analyze and design value stream, including capability, capacity, throughput, work flow, and logistics.
  • Junior or Senior with a major in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Progress toward a bachelor's or advanced degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize MS Teams to participate in meetings and create minutes.
  • Team player with an aptitude to learn the ITW culture and work within a fast-paced environment.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Arduino.
  • Industrial engineering with some mechanical engineering ideal.
  • Preferred candidates will reside and/or attend college or university in the DFW area.
