About The Position

The Engineering Technicians are responsible for effectively providing services to lead the on-site system migrations, installations, start-ups, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of automation control systems and advanced manufacturing software applications, VFD and Servo drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks, and the individual products which comprise these systems.

Requirements

  • Must possess at least four (4) years of industrial maintenance experience or advanced education in electrical, mechanical, or electronics engineering.
  • Must possess at least two (2) years of PLC ladder logic programming experience.
  • Must be willing to work off-shifts as dictated by facility status/conditions and extended hours when necessary.
  • Must be trustworthy and have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to use independent reasoning and judgement.
  • Must pay great attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of plant personnel.
  • Must be a problem solver and display a “can do attitude”.
  • Must be self-motivated and a self-starter; must be willing to make decisions.
  • Must follow all GMP regulations and procedures.
  • Proficiency in programming/navigating and troubleshooting PLC control systems is a must.
  • Experience with RSlogix 500, RSlogix/Studio 5000 is a must.
  • Familiarity with the following industrial control communication protocols: ControlNet, Ethernet, DH+, Remote I/O, and DeviceNet.
  • Experience with Windows operating system, PC/software configurations, and Rockwell software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Red lion Crimson 3.0, and FactoryTalk view preferred.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley VFDs and Servos preferred.
  • Familiarity with analog control circuits preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation, migration, and maintenance of facility electrical equipment and control systems, with emphasis on troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
  • Connecting with, navigating in, and programming Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs using Rockwell software.
  • Troubleshooting advanced electrical systems.
  • Calibrating, installation, and programing of instrumentation hardware.
  • Assist Production and maintenance departments with start-ups, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment when applicable.
  • Provide change management report of changes to control systems and notifications to all applicable team members when significant changes are made to control systems.
  • Read and update electrical drawings, P & IDs, and equipment manuals.
