About The Position

Overland AI builds intelligent uncrewed ground systems for defense and national security. Our autonomy stack, OverDrive, is defining the state-of-the-art for perception, planning, and control of uncrewed vehicles, enabling them to traverse and operate in any terrain, regardless of roads, in any condition. OverDrive was purpose-built for the warfighter. Through our work with DARPA and the U.S. Army, we are developing the intelligent capabilities necessary to power modern ground operations, now and for decades to come. In a little over a year, the company has been selected for or awarded eight-figures of OTAs and other contracts across multiple services and DoD customers. We have raised over $10M in funding, led by Point72 Ventures, a top multi-billion dollar AUM defense tech investor. We’re looking for an Engineering Technician to join our vehicle team.

Requirements

Strong technical background: Technical certification or associate degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience can substitute).
3+ years of experience in assembly and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
Proficiency with metal and woodworking tools; experience with machine shop tools and welding preferred.
Proficiency with electrical wiring, soldering and cable/harness assembly preferred.
Experience with off-road vehicle operations, maintenance, and modifications preferred.
Ability to lift more than 40 lbs.

Field-test forward: You enjoy getting your hands dirty and going off the beaten path to see the results of your work.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
Ability to relocate to Seattle, WA.

Nice To Haves

Experience with off-road vehicle operations, maintenance, and modifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical and electrical prototype assembly tasks on high-performance autonomous off-road ground vehicles.
Test and troubleshoot electromechanical systems.
Work in a small team to improve designs, fabricate components and modify existing parts for off-road vehicles.
Assume responsibility for safe and efficient operation of machinery and shop equipment.
Support safety, quality and process improvements.
