About The Position

Supports analysis of returned product for the determination of warranty disposition. Performs standard tests to assess product function and recommends/performs additional tests based on results. Supports engineering activities such as test, root-cause analysis, fabrication and assembly of electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Applications may include mechanical assemblies, electronic circuits, high vacuum systems, high voltage systems, and X-ray producing equipment. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.

Requirements

Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Customer communication skills both written and verbal
Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
Normally receives little instruction on day to- day work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments
High School degree or equivalent.
Typically requires a minimum of 3 - 5 years of related experience
Long periods of standing on hard floors
Lifting of up to 25lbs
Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and power drills
Indoor, controlled environment

Work environments include exposure to chemicals, electrical current, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion, fumes.
