About The Position

Supports analysis of returned product for the determination of warranty disposition. Performs standard tests to assess product function and recommends/performs additional tests based on results. Supports engineering activities such as test, root-cause analysis, fabrication and assembly of electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Applications may include mechanical assemblies, electronic circuits, high vacuum systems, high voltage systems, and X-ray producing equipment. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.

Requirements

  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Customer communication skills both written and verbal
  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • Normally receives little instruction on day to- day work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 - 5 years of related experience
  • Long periods of standing on hard floors
  • Lifting of up to 25lbs
  • Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and power drills
  • Indoor, controlled environment
  • Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
  • Medium work that will frequently (34-66%) require employee to lift/move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally (1-33%) lift more than 10 lbs. to greater than 25 lbs.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies frequently (34-66%).
  • Reaching above and below the shoulder frequently (34-66%).
  • Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools frequently (34-66%).
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities.
  • Work environments include exposure to chemicals, electrical current, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion, fumes.

  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
