About The Position

The Assembly Integration Focus Factory of L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems in Rochester, New York, is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Engineering Technician. This role requires the timely execution of assigned tasks as an individual contributor, as well as effective collaboration within a team in a low-volume, high-precision manufacturing environment. Seeking candidate with composite material background and the ability to work within tight tolerance specifications to join or precision structures team. The scope is focused on the timely execution of assigned tasks with a quality mindset. Will work as individual contributor and in a team environment, fabricating, building, handling, repairing, and integrating complex, one of a kind composite parts/assemblies in a low volume setting. This role involves working directly with engineers on the design, development, and fabrication of new and existing products. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication, and teamwork skills. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to advanced technology and precision manufacturing at L3Harris Space and Airborne System

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain US Government security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or experience in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
  • 2 Years post-Secondary/Associates Degree.
  • Aerospace or Defense industry experience.
  • Experience with Laser Tracker or CMM measurement tools.
  • Experience with shop equipment including but not limited to Mills, Lathes, Grinders, and red precision measuring equipment.
  • Lean Manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
  • Read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.
  • Work with very fragile and precise assemblies.
  • Assist with identifying problems and suggest solutions.
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices.
  • Work with a variety of hand tools and specialized equipment.
  • Must be proficient with measuring tools (verniers, calipers, scales, etc.)
  • Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays and some travel.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be willing to submit to a background investigation, as a government security clearance might be required for this position.
