About The Position

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving two primary markets – passenger vehicle and commercial truck – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities. This position is located in Napoleon, Ohio, at a Dana final assembly plant for the Ford Bronco and Ranger products. This role provides off-shift engineering support with a focus on controls related issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years’ manufacturing and/or technical experience
  • Experience working with a variety of tools – hand tools, power tools, machine equipment, etc.
  • Strong technical background and understanding of electrical systems
  • Ability to take direction and work with little supervision
  • Microsoft office experience
  • Experience in 2D or 3D CAD
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs
  • Both strategic and hands on; able to lead in execution as well as develop strategy
  • Able to make decisions independently with appropriate level of consultation/communication
  • Strong computer literacy skills
  • Possess a growth-oriented mindset with a strong ability to learn and acquire new skills that pertain to this position
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, at all levels
  • Commitment to the highest standards of ethical behavior in self and others; commitment to inclusion and diversity

  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or related field preferred
  • Background in automotive with both mechanical and electrical knowledge a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to the floor on 2nd shift – process and controls
  • Identify, document and communicate opportunities for improvement to the engineering team
  • Lead and complete as directed by the engineering team
  • Help perform gauge R&R’s by line
  • Monitor and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and software issues on the floor
  • Work with maintenance and engineering to identify opportunities for improvement in preventative maintenance
  • Participate in hands on training activities
  • Document/ update work instructions and associated process documentation
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
