About The Position

The Engineering Technician must be able to develop, optimize, standardize production processes and projects related to product requirements, standard operating procedures, equipment operation and maintenance, quality, statistical process control, and document control. Must be able to meet customer requirements through engineering support and operational support as required; Improve product quality and delivery through evaluating existing and new processes and production equipment; and develop engineering improvements to increase quality, improve process capability, reduce cost, and improve overall process and tool reliability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience to include thin films, photolithography, wet/dry etch, or metrology is strongly desired.
  • This position will require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information, and employees in these roles will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident, or the ability to meet contract-specific licensure requirements.
  • Knowledge of requirement analysis and design skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Ability to solve technical problems.
  • Knowledge of process improvement strategies.
  • Experience providing technical expertise and sustaining support related to manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience working with external and internal partners.
  • Demonstrated strong team dynamics, able to work through complex issues with a diverse team.
  • Have good time management skills, is self-motivated, and have a strong desire to succeed in a challenging environment.
  • Resourceful and have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Understand statistical process control methodologies and engineering analysis tools.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day (where applicable).
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey quality standards, expectations, and feedback clearly to team members and stakeholders.
  • A willingness to adjust to changing circumstances, processes, or technologies for continuous improvement in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and sustaining support related to manufacturing and engineering.
  • Assist in process improvements through disciplined problem-solving methodology and design of experiments.
  • Performs testing, analysis, and evaluation of high-reliability microwave IPDs, modules, and systems.
  • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving quality, yields, production rates, efficiencies, and reducing costs.
  • Assist in the process of wafers through the solderball tools.
  • Assist in developing innovative solutions and incorporating new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
  • Improve process capability metrics (Cp, Cpk) and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
  • Collect, record, and document data.
  • Provide suggestions during incident investigations and advise on corrective actions.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Plan and establish a sequence of operations to produce the product and to promote efficient utilization of resources.
  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Perform additional functions and other duties as assigned or required.
