Spends time assisting operators on the path to excellent yields removing obstacles. Must have excellent equipment acumen, with the ability to be creative and troubleshoot. Technical aptitude, people-centric, and ability to help lead MELT extrusion and expansion to excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED required. Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of expansion and/or extrusion experience and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Experience in a regulated (FDA, ISO, etc.) manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work hands-on with Melt manufacturing processes.
  • Strong written, verbal, and analytical experience required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with Minitab is a plus.

  • Preference is given to candidates with FEP Expansion experience.

Responsibilities

  • Strives to make MELT operations successful and with an emphasis on process development and troubleshooting.
  • Creation of Engineering Projects for product development and process improvement.
  • Creation of Engineering Change Notifications for new and existing products.
  • Identify opportunities and implement changes to reduce variation and improve scrap rates and productivity independently and with teams.
  • Assist in designing, building, or procuring new or improved tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Implementing improvements as part of the engineering team.
  • Reports information and issues to the MELT Value Stream Team.
  • May be asked to conduct quality checks, assist in root-cause analysis, problem-solving, and reporting issues to the manager and supervisor, and assist in the implementation of corrective action.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime
  • Must be able to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
