About The Position

The Operations department of L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems in Rochester, New York, is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Engineering Technician. This role requires the timely execution of assigned tasks as an individual contributor, as well as effective collaboration within a team in a low-volume, high-precision manufacturing environment. The technician will work closely with engineering and materials management teams on safe handling and processing transactions for optical, mechanical, and electrical components, and the required documentation for each. Ideal candidates must possess keen attention to detail for material handling and traceability and relevant experience in similar roles. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication, and teamwork skills. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 0-2 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical discipline.
  • Aerospace or Defense industry experience.
  • Proven experience as a Production Control Expert or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
  • Lean Manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the efficient movement of material from the warehouse to production.
  • Use ERP systems and production planning software to process transactions.
  • Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.
  • Assist with identifying problems with material orders and suggesting solutions.
  • Work cross functionally to troubleshoot and resolve paperwork and part issues.
  • Adherent to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work overtime/weekends/shifts as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Use high attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Maintain strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
