About The Position

Under the direction of Engineering manager or senior engineers, the Engineering Technician supports develop of new processes and part numbers, sustaining existing products, and exceptional organization, documentation, and execution of relevant engineering processes. This role has an emphasis on manufacturing process design and documentation creation consistent with high tolerance, complex parts. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation, and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience performing document control duties in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Relevant experience within an engineering and manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education, training and experienceis acceptable
  • Experience and knowledge with ERP systems, including part masters and bill of materials (BOMs) preferred.
  • Computer literacy required specifically experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word experience is required.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Detail oriented and able to plan and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management, organization, and planning skills
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment.
  • Ability to apply intermediate math skills and concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing Engineering preferred.
  • Working knowledge of EN ISO 13485 preferred.
  • Experience with utilizing ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the Tecomet Quality Management System (QMS). This role will effectively maintain the quality system.
  • Manage, organize, and/or support engineering change notice process to ensure control of engineering documentation.
  • Draft various types of engineering documentation including, but not limited to, Process Control Plans, Inspection Reports, Work Instructions, Setup Sheets.
  • Ensures organization of all relevant engineering documentation, both electronic and hardcopy.
  • Supports management of engineering records and part masters Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, as applicable
  • Supports engineering projects including process validations, cost improvement projects, new product introduction (NPI), and safety improvement projects.
  • Participates in process development process for manufacturing of products.
  • Trains production staff on relevant work instructions or standard work as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
