The Engineering Technician position at Air Combat Command serves as an Electrical Planning Technician responsible for project management and planning related to base real property maintenance, repair, and minor construction. The role involves determining the necessary resources, including manpower and materials, to effectively execute projects on facility infrastructure and systems.

  • Serve as a Project Manager for assigned contract projects.
  • Conduct on-site surveys for electrical and power production sections' in-house work orders.
  • Process work orders and examine requests for repairs, modifications, or new construction.
  • Collaborate with the CEO Flight elements on project execution.
  • Maintain administrative actions related to ongoing work order projects.
  • Track work order and project status in manual and/or automated systems.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-10 level for external applicants or GS-09 level for internal applicants.
  • Practical knowledge of engineering concepts, methods, principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety and occupational health principles related to electrical and power production disciplines.
  • Familiarity with standard contracting regulations and practices.
  • Ability to conduct site/facility surveys and inspections.
  • Experience with drafting techniques for engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of analytical and diagnostic methods for project requirements.
