Our Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Engineering Technician 2 to join our Advanced Manufacturing Technology team in El Segundo, CA. As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology development team, you will provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Support manufacturing concepts and processes for production applications of advanced technologies including, but not limited to composites fabrication, assembly, automation, inspection, and coatings technologies. Performs fabrication, assembly, and testing based activities in support of multiple projects. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. Support engineering on design concepts, TRL/MRL maturity, and specification requirements to best utilize resources and manufacturing techniques. Ensure processes and procedures are followed and in compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year fabrication experience.
  • Direct experience working with Composites, Bagging, Layup, and Curing.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work any shift and schedule including 9/80 1st shift (5:00 AM - 2:42 PM), including overtime as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Team leadership experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem solving capabilities.
  • Composites and airframe fabrication, assembly, and LO coatings experience.
  • Experience with operating and troubleshooting various types of composition curing equipment.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and process procedures.
  • Ability to interface with various support organizations and management.
  • Transitioning service member or veteran of the U.S. military service or current military guard or reserve member.
  • Spouse of a transitioning military service member or current military guard or reserve member.
