About The Position

Tesla cars are not complete without the suite of sensors deployed – TPMS, HVAC, Navigation/Localization, and Radar to name a few. Sensing team is seeking a test technician to support testing, characterization and validation of multiple sensors across all vehicle platforms – model S/X, 3Y, Next-gen vehicles etc. The successful candidate will be trained by Tesla engineers to execute step-by-step instructions to perform various tests in the vehicle or in the laboratory environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and support them to achieve accurate and repeatable data collection. A detail-oriented mind set is a must to achieve best-in class results. This technician should be flexible and driven to achieve tasks in a start-up company environment.

Requirements

  • Valid driving license required
  • Work from Palo Alto and/or Fremont Tesla sites
  • Detailed oriented mentality is a must to follow testing procedures accurately
  • Willing to go beyond comfort zone and eager to learn new technologies and skill sets

  • Testing background is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support vehicle preparation, tear-down, and test execution, by working closely with the design and hardware teams
  • Support Electrical hardware teams with board reworks and harness construction as dictated by priorities
  • Following instructions to execute a SW program to generate and save performance characterization data for different pedigree of hardware
  • Following instructions to run Python or Matlab scripts and navigate folder structure through terminal interface
  • Systematically collate and organize the test results in power point or excel using basic Windows File Explorer skills
  • Communicate with firmware and hardware engineers to achieve test targets
  • Willing and able to learn step-by-step instructions to perform different tests
  • Detailed oriented mentality is a must to follow testing procedures accurately
  • Willing to go beyond comfort zone and eager to learn new technologies and skill sets
  • Valid driving license required
  • Work from Palo Alto and/or Fremont Tesla sites
