About The Position

The position of Engineering Technician is responsible for providing direct support to the engineering function and related product development activities at Plymouth Industries. This role involves fabricating and assembling mechanical components, including machinery with various powertrain components such as engines, electric motors, controls, fluid power components, and mechanical drives. The technician will also perform fabrication and welding activities for new products and modifications to existing models, conduct testing on experimental models and components during research and development, and assist manufacturing in the design and development of welding and assembly fixtures.

Requirements

  • Must have welding experience.
  • Familiarity with manufacturers' specifications.
  • Ability to use test equipment and hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble mechanical components.
  • Assemble machinery containing powertrain components.
  • Perform fabrication and welding activities for new products and modifications.
  • Conduct testing on experimental models and components.
  • Travel occasionally to offsite locations for equipment testing or customer issue resolution.
  • Assist Manufacturing in designing and developing welding and assembly fixtures.
  • Make recommendations for product performance for quality control.
  • Test competitive products and evaluate as necessary.
  • Instruct and assist production personnel on new product assembly.
  • Perform service or repair assignments on new and existing equipment.
  • Work with minimum supervision on regular assignments.
  • Consult with engineers to resolve operational and maintenance problems.
  • Assist Quality Department activities and personnel.
  • Adhere to Company Safety policies and CARE Initiative.
