Engineering technicians are critical to the BETA mission, ensuring Electronic Motors (EPU) are designed, built, and tested appropriately to support R&D, flight testing, and other validation needs. As the design develops, engineering technicians will be responsible for rapidly understanding and adjusting to new developments while maintaining quick assembly turnaround.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical assembly and testing and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to pivot and rapidly develop solutions to changing goals.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Passion for sustainability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced with inspection techniques and equipment.
  • Metal reworking (lathe, mill, etc).
  • Basic CAD skills in opening and interrogating parts and assemblies.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 800 VDC.
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting, soldering and board-level rework.
  • Familiar with electrostatic discharge best practices (ESD).

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on assembly or repair of electric motors including redlining engineering drawings and created build records.
  • Perform testing, validation, troubleshooting, and manufacturing processes in concert with design engineers.
  • Assist editing and implementing technical documentation.
  • Develop your expertise concerning electro-mechanical assembly of fully electric propulsion systems.
  • Respect and foster a culture of safety, including working safely around high-voltage.
